Thank you to all the parents who took out time from their busy schedules to come to Vista Heights Kindergarten's Meet the Teacher! I did try and touch on most of the important discussion points. If you have more questions or would like any clarifications on the topics discussed, please feel free to get in touch with me through email: almalik@cbe.ab or by calling 403-777-6000.

Please return all forms including lunch supervision forms at your earliest convenience.

We will have another opportunity to meet in 2 weeks at the parent teacher conferences, September 18th  and 19th. A notice will be sent home for you to book a time on line. This meeting will be more personalised and if you have any queries, I will be more than happy to address them.

This week of Kindergarten's staggered entry has helped your child to adjust and adapt quickly to the Kindergarten routines. I look forward to having them for Full day from Monday.

I am so proud of all of my students as they have been helping each other to settle down. Some of the sentences used were respectful, helpful and comforting for their friends.

" I can help."             "Don't cry, your mommy will be here."

"I can fix his shoes."    "Excuse me, can you open my juice."

"I can show you where the washroom is."     "You can play with me."

During this week we have focused on activities that foster independence, following instructions, familiarize them with the environment and routines.

-Learning to recognize our names and our friends names
-Looking for shapes in our enviornment and nature
-little scientists have been exploring the plants in our rooms and discussing the needs of plants
