Today was a full day for both the Kindergarten groups. We spent time introducing ourselves and getting used to all the routines together. We also learnt the following song.
The More We Get Together
The more we get together
Together, Together
The more we get together
The happier we'll be
Your friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends are your friends
The more we get together
The happier we'll be
We have been exploring the plants and other centres in our room, building expectations of being kind, helpful, respectful, sharing and learning to look after our Kindergarten community together! Our Kindergarten phrase that we have been using during the day
Ask me the math name for a diamond
While we were learning about shapes and making patterns, a student said,
"The shapes are glass." " I can see through."
Our conversation from math changed over to using a scientific word for it.
My Kindergarten scientists learnt the word, "transparent"
The fish bowl is trans.....t
Ask me to sing how I greeted my friends from the other group!
How are You?
I'm very happy to see you
Greet your neighbour
Boogy on down/shake your hand
Give a bump and turn around (to your other friend)
We read the book,
Ask me about this book. ........ We told David to
STOP THINK AND MAKE A GOOD CHOICE
Is David making a good choice?
We got a book from the library today yeah!! Please read the book with me ask me to do a picture walk and ask me some questions. A few suggestions while you are reading with your child...
-Enjoy reading with your child.
-Where is the title of the book
-Who is an author
-What do you think this book is about
-What will happen next, before you turn the page. Use words like- Can you
predict what is going to happen
-Ask about the sequence of the story
-Ask about feelings...
-Did you like the story and why
If you finish reading, you can bring it back and exchange it for a new one. Kindergarten is lucky!!! We can exchange a book everyday.
-Parents that were unable to join us in the evening for, "Meet the teacher",
