-There is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow (Friday), September 19 because of conferences
Today we had our first FIRE DRILL practice. Our young Kindergarten students did a wonderful job of listening and following instructions. Ask me what we did, when we heard the fire alarm.
Being a good listener means much more than just hearing what is said. Along with listening with our ears we need to do other things too. Today, our Kindergarten students heard the story ofListening Larry and learned about 'listening' with your eyes, your brains, your mouth, your hands, your heart and your entire body.
Please have your child share with you how they can listen with their whole body.
Stop, Think and Make a Good Choice |
We have using this book to talk about making good choices in a vary of situations. Throughout the year, we will use the phrase " Stop, think and make a good choice" to help our students become more responsible for their actions. Your child can share with you some instances where they have made good choices.
A review of what we have been doing...
We're going on a bear hunt.
We're going to catch a big one.
What a beautiful day! We're not scared.
Oh-oh! (obstacle)
We can't go over it.
We can;t go under it.
We've got go through it!
We read the book,
Ask me about this book
What lessons did I learn from this book?
Look forward to seeing some of your parents tonight and some tomorrow!
Have a nice weekend!
Thanks,
Mrs. Malik
